Join us for our HONEY EXTRACTION farm tour & experience!
This is an exciting + playful tour of our apiary, letting the visitor experience a day in the honey harvest. Learn about honeybee foraging, pollination, nectar gathering, honey production, and the extraction process. Guests will learn to handle beekeeping equipment, smoke a hive, hold a frame of honey, how to clear a honey super of bees. We will remove honey supers & then return to the barn to cover the extraction process start to finish.
Each participant will have the opportunity to handle a frame and will be sent home with one (1) digital photo with the bees. Each guest will extract, bottle AND label 3 (375g) jars of honey to take home for themselves - a $30 value! You are able to choose from the bottled honey from the session OR from our complete line of natural, infused or creamed honey. Option to upgrade to a half or full case available upon request.
NOTES:
1. Includes one ticket for an adult. For a family pass click here.
Children 6-12 yrs old may attend free of charge but please let us know at info@hunnabees.com.
2. Classes run from approx 1-4:30pm unless otherwise specified.
3. Safety equipment can be provided however, if you do have your own, you may feel free to bring it.
4. All purchases are non-refundable. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled for a later date.
