Meet the Maker: Peace of Healing

Meet this week's maker, Alicia from Peace of Healing!

Alicia is a firm believer that you are what you absorb, and this is something she is continuously reminding others about. From what you eat and what you listen to, to your environment and the words you speak into yourself, you are absorbing it. This is why she also believes we should be mindful of what we apply to our skin.

To finally take this leap with her business, Alicia credits her faith, as well as her friends and family, for giving her the push to say yes and start this new chapter. Her range of products are all 100% natural with no preservatives and are vegan and cruelty free.

What kind of products do you sell?
All-natural, vegan skin and body care.

How did you get started?
It was when I began to be more conscious with what I was putting into and onto my body that these products were born. I wanted a lifestyle that I felt in control of and one that I had my own knowledge of. I wanted to show my children that knowledge is power, and having a long, healthy and fruitful life is achievable. I began looking for ingredients that were going to add value to both my life and my skin. It all started in my kitchen where my sons and I would mix and stir to make these products, and my loved ones and I have been using them ever since. We all feel the benefits of using these products, and now, I'm ready to share them with all of you. I'm hoping they bring you as much joy as they bring me.

Why are you a maker?
I think it's so empowering to be a woman who creates her own products and then shares them with the world. I simply want to show people that living a cleaner and healthier life is achievable.

What inspires you?
Challenges. Challenges inspire me. Never ask God for wisdom or for strength, without expecting to face a circumstance and season that will mold and form those characteristics.

What is your favourite product that you sell?
My EDEN Nourishing Face Oil is one of my favorite products. It's a lightweight oil that will leave your face looking dewy and glowing. With ingredients like frankincense and raspberry seed oil, it can help with your overall skin tone and boost skin's collagen and help improve elasticity.

What is your favourite product that another maker sells?
When I moved into Markets Pickering, I right away noticed Lemon Lily Tea. I'm a big tea drinker, so I can't wait to try their products!

What is your most popular product?
My most popular product is the EDEN Detox Green Clay Mask. It's rich in vitamin A and E, as well as iron, which can help combat free radicals and help with skin concerns, such as rosacea and premature aging. It also contains natural oils that will leave your skin feeling soft and fresh and not stripped.

What's one fun fact that someone might not know about you?
One fun fact about me is that out of high school I went to George Brown College for Culinary Management. When I was done college I worked under Mark McEwan at ONE Restaurant in Hazelton Lanes.
